I'm celebrating invisibly...
Me too, but my Bourbon is real.
"on october 2, 1914, charles taze russell, then president of the watch tower bible and tract society, boldly announced: the gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.
how true his words proved to be!

I'm celebrating invisibly...
Me too, but my Bourbon is real.
i was recently at a baseball game with friends and family when i learned something new.
beer had been drunk and the men made their way to the men's room to relieve themselves.
when they got back i asked them what took them so long.
If there are 3 urinals never use teh middle one first - that would force anybody arriving after you to stand beside you.
I went to a baseball game once with a guy who insisted on taking the urinal right next to mine when there was a line of about twenty empty urinals to choose from. Granted, we were both fairly intoxicated, but somehow that made it worse.
starts today!
now that england have slightly spoiled my world cup with their early failure, i am focusing a little more on the tennis.
i happen to live 15 minute walk from the wimbledon tennis courts so am completely caught up in the atmosphere, i will be joining the queue with a friend thursday night, camping out for the ticket queue early friday morning.
Being that American tennis is pretty much dead, I'll probably be rooting for Andy Murray to defend his title.
Seriously, where is the next great American men's player? No one picked up the mantle after Sampras and Agassi retired.
i try ... i really try to watch football (soccer) ... it's world cup time ... i really do try.. i just don't get it ... i really don't.. yes, it's a world-wide sport.
in most countries it is the number 1 or number 2 sport ... no doubt about it.
it's maybe number 5 in the usa for professional sports.. from an american's perspective (i think i speak for many), we just wonder if these guys actually have testicles.
When someone bumps into you and you fall down in excruciating pain, shouldn't you leave the game? Happens in other sports all the time. In baseball, football, basketball, hockey, tennis, golf or any other sport I can think of here
To be fair, there's plenty of "flopping" in American sports, as well. I once saw Derek Jeter pretend to get hit by a pitch and get awarded first base. I constantly see NFL players fall to the ground after being nudged by an opposing player for the purpose of drawing a 15 yard penalty. And it's so bad in the NBA that they had to start fining the players this season (though Lebron always seems to get a pass).
this thread is for you to vent about anything (within guidelines) that you want.. i'll start.. i'm sick of people who complain about how cold the weather is and then you have two 85 degree days and now they can't wait till autumn!.
Why does the expiration date for my milk always fall on a Tuesday? I like to go grocery shopping on the weekend, but I can't wait if I want fresh milk in the morning.
And why do people insist on wearing socks with flip flops? Don't they know how silly it looks?
And why do other people insist on being on the road while I'm on my commute home?
based upon descriptions in the bible and what is known scientifically so far, what would god actually be?
lightning comes out of the throne.
no man may see and live.

these days, virtually every public talk speaker thinks it's interesting and intellectual to include a dictionary definition of some word.
often the word is in common use and needs no explanation, such as 'exercise', or 'knowledge', or whatever.. now contrast that to all of the words that the wt has it's own meaning for, and referencing a dictionary for the common understanding of it would be viewed unfavourably.. words like 'generation' or 'men' (as in jesus is mediator between god and 'men' - 1tim 2:5-6).. what words have the wt redefined that you know about?
- i'd like to compile a list if possible.. splash.
A speaker giving the public talk said that the word, "fellow" came from the root word for Nephilim which means "to cause to fall". He says the Nephilim caused others to fall, and so they were called "fellers" and so we get the word "fellow".
That's funny, because there was a really strange brother in our circuit who would take offense to being called "fella", and it was for just that reason. He would reply, in all seriousness: "I am not a Nephilim, and do not wish to be referred to as such".
4 weeks of football and wimbledon tennis in between!?
life is beautiful.. aaahhhh!
i'm so excited!.
if england win the final--i'll start attending the meetings again.
And if the US wins, I'll attend meetings and start pioneering.
does the biblical account prove the scientific theory of how the universe came into existence.
Because SCO/thegobbleygook11 has so much foolishness to spout one account cannot contain it all...
Or he's been having so much fun fucking with us that one account cannot contain all of his enjoyment. This question can't possibly be for real.

He redefined the word "Idiot"..
He didn't redefine it, he just helped everyone gain a deeper understanding of the word.
